Nora MacKenzie is a 15 year-old girl, and an Awakened Shaman. Nora comes from humble beginnings, growing up in the rural countryside of Kaldrum Isle, but has dreamed of becoming a Legionnaire of the Valiant Empire since she was a child. Nora is currently enrolled in the Continental Academy, under the Black Sheep house.

History
- Born the first child to a pair of farmers in the countryside of Kaldrum Isle, neither of which were Awakened.
- However, her grandfather is a retired Legionnaire and she was raised on his stories.
- Inspired by his tales of heroism, young Nora decides that she will one day join the Legion as well.
- Trains from a young age with her grandfather when not helping her parents with farm work.
- Parents support her dreams and save up as much money as they can to send her off to take the entrance exam for the Continental Academy.
- Her grandfather passes his sword on to her before she leaves.
- Nora manages to pass the exam, and is placed into the Black Sheep house.
Abilities and Equipment
As a Shaman, Nora is able to manipulate her own Spiritual Energy, as well as potentially the spirits of others. She is also able to perceive and interact with spirits themselves. Nora's spiritual power is quite impressive, and she has spent most of her life honing her abilities.
Physical Enhancement - Nora is capable of flowing her spiritual power through her physical body, using the powerful energy of her spirit to empower herself. This allows Nora to demonstrate superhuman physical attributes, such as strength, speed, reflexes, and durability. Nora is also able to do this with objects, infusing her energy into them and making them far stronger.
Spiritual Perception - Nora is able to sense the spirits of others at a fundamental level in the immediate area around her, allowing her to know where people or other beings are without being able to sense them with traditional means. This also gives her incredible reflexes, as this 6th sense if you will is able to perceive threats far faster than Nora's natural senses can.
Skystrider
Skystrider is a "soul-forged" bastard sword that has been passed down to Nora from her grandfather, who was honored with the sword as a reward after saving the life of his commander in battle. This sword was crafted by a legendary long-dead Kaldrumi blacksmith known only as Manus the Forgefather. This man was renowned for his ability to forge weapons infused with his own incredibly potent spiritual energy, referred to as soul-forging, and many of his almost mythical creations are littered across the world still today.
Soul-Forged - Soul-Forged weapons must bond directly with the spirit of their user, and henceforth reject anybody else who would attempt to wield them unless officially passed on to a new holder. The spiritual bonding of a Soul-forged blade and its holder lasts even after the weapon has been passed on, with the holder essentially leaving a piece of their soul within the weapon, causing it to grow stronger and stronger with each new wielder. Soul-forged weapons can go through evolutions as the bond between it and their holder strengthens, and sometimes even change appearance and gain new abilities as the process continues.
Due to the process of Soul-forging, Skystrider is incredibly durable, seemingly unable to be scratched or even dulled. Soul-forging has also made it a perfect conductor and amplifier of spiritual energy, an ideal weapon for a Shaman like Nora. When infused with the spiritual energy of the user, Skystrider is able to cut and pierce with far more potency than a regular weapon, and is even able to release waves of powerful spiritual energy through the air as projectiles.
- Azure Sky - Nora charges Skystrider with an enormous amount of energy, with the weapon's soul-forged properties causing it to act as an amplifier, before releasing the energy in the form of a large explosion or beam.
Levitation - The unique power and namesake of Skystrider is its ability to levitate and fly through the air. When infused with Nora's spiritual energy, Skystrider is able to be controlled at will, giving Nora the ability to essentially telekinetically manipulate her weapon. Additionally, Skystrider occasionally seems to demonstrate a will of its own, such as shooting forth from its sheath to defend Nora from threats that she herself is unaware of.
