Aleister Thorne is a young man from Instinct, an awakened Mage who graduated to as an Junior Legionnaire with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He topped the 13th graduating class of the Continental Academy at number 1 under the tutelage of St. Eustass Valiant.

He is a current member of Dario Isidoro Orlando's Raptor, a Legion team specialized in resource hunting.

History and Backstory

Aleister is a child of Instict who was born to nothing, seeing that he was awakened, his parents sold him to a powerful witch from Mystic. This witch conducted magical and alchemical experiments on Aleister which saw a change to his physiology and capacity to utilize Magic. He was one of her prized test subjects.

Aleister was eventually saved as the Desperado witch was defeated by the Legionnaire Association where he was then reacquainted into the world and placed back into society. He was given the opportunity to become a Student Legionnaire; one that he would take. Aleister saw himself graduate at number 1 and be hailed as one of the strongest graduates the world had ever seen; he would make headlines for the wrong reason however when he scolded the festival population stating he would let a gate open and save none of the spectators. This spectacle did however grab the attention of Dusty who went on to recruit Aleister to Raptor.

Runes

Runes are an ancient form of magic developed in Instinct during an ancient time, and are symbols that, once inscribed, automatically realize mysteries accordingly with the meaning that they represent. Aleister has demonstrated the ability to inscribe runes on his body or other objects.

• Uruz (ᚢ): “Mind over matter – matter over mind”. Uruz is one of Aleister's key runes. It is a rune that governs shaping and forcing fortunate circumstances creatively through will and inspiration. Self-healing and maintenance of both mental and physical health. Inscribing the rune grants Aleister a strong mental fortitude and clairvoyance. His will becomes indomitable, she will continue to persist and fight no matter what seeing through illusions and trickery. Her body becomes reinforced to a level where already base physiology is greatly increased.
• Fehu (ᚠ): “Every beginning has within it the seeds of its own end.” Fehu is a rune that governs power transference. It allows Aleister to focus and concentrate his mana into segments of his body and weapons. Aleister inscribes the rune onto what she is transferring it to. This rune allows her to use Mana Burst including Courage, Flame and Leap.

Ansuz (ᚨ)

"“Find your ears before you search for words.”
Ansuz is a Rune inscribed on Aleister's tongue. It governs all powers of naming and conceptualization. The Rune allows Aleister to activate magic using incantations that rival the Divine Words used during by powerful magic creatures such as Elves and Fairies. He can do high level spellcasting in one second because he gives the World orders directly the need to expend mana.

• skjald-borg: With this incantation Aleister can create a powerful magical shield around his body, similar to Borg.

Mannaz ᛗ

"We are each a savior, each a god. It is the fear of what this means which binds us to the realm of humankind" A powerful rune that when cast allows for Aleister to reach beyond the fabric of time, he is then able to use his magic to alter the effect of time for the object he casts the rune on. By altering the course of a set action through his rune, this allows him to utilize many different forms of combat related attacks that can often focus on any form of past, present, and future.

Aleister has demonstrated the ability to "fastforward" or "reverse" the position of himself or his attacks in time. For example, using the Mannaz rune he can effectively speed through his travel to his intended target because that's where he will be in the future. In the same thought, he can take himself back to a previous point where he was because that is where he was in the past, it appears like he is using teleportation.

He can also change time within an object, a tree can grow from a small stub into a grand tree if Aleister chooses to do so, he can hatch an egg as soon as it is laid with no adverse effects on the chicken. Bread or milk that has gone past its expiration date can suddenly become fresh again in the presence of Aleister.
